The Neural Pipeline

Retroiva AI isn't a simple filter. It is a sequential chain of five specialized GANs running on A100 GPU clusters to reconstruct video data at the pixel level.

AI Frame generation (RIFE).

Step 05
Encoding

Smart bitrate optimization.

Step 01: Pre-Processing

Intelligent Decompression

Video compression algorithms (like H.264) save space by grouping pixels into "macroblocks." This destroys fine detail. Retroiva AI analyzes these artifacts and mathematically reverses the compression damage before any upscaling begins.

  • Removes macroblocking squares
  • Smooths color banding in gradients
  • Fixes mosquito noise around text

Step 02: Cleanup

Spatio-Temporal Denoising

Unlike standard denoisers that blur the image, our neural network looks at pixels across time (multiple frames). It identifies static noise patterns from the camera sensor and removes them while keeping the moving subject sharp.

  • Retains film grain (optional)
  • Fixes low-light chroma noise
Step 03: Core Technology

Generative Super-Resolution

Using a custom ESRGAN architecture, we "hallucinate" missing texture details—skin pores, fabric weaves, foliage—based on context. This allows us to scale 480p or 720p content to native 4K with sharpness that traditional bicubic upscaling cannot achieve.

  • 400% Resolution Increase
  • Edge refinement without halos

Step 04: Temporal AI

AI Motion Interpolation

Convert standard 24fps or 30fps footage into fluid 60fps or 120fps video. We utilize advanced Optical Flow estimation (RIFE models) to generate intermediate frames that never existed in the source file.

This is distinct from "soap opera effect" smoothing; our AI understands object boundaries to prevent warping artifacts during fast motion.

Step 05: Delivery

Smart Encoding & Compression

A 4K file can be massive. Our final step uses content-aware encoding to reduce file size by up to 50% without visible quality loss. We optimize the bitrate based on the complexity of each scene (VBR).

  • Variable Bitrate (VBR) Optimization
  • Output to ProRes 4444 or H.265
